The Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board, created by Mo. Co. Council Resolution No. 9-714, 1980. advises the County Executive and the County Council on almost every issue relevant to the county from the budget to land use to public safety. While the name "Western" is a bit deceiving, the territory covered is vast: Bethesda, Cabin John, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Garrett Park, Glen Echo, North Bethesda, Potomac, Rockville, and Twinbrook communities. The Board's 19 members represent neighborhoods, businesses, community representatives, and local non-profits and reflect varying points of view within the region. Members serve three-year terms without compensation.
